Distance of school from home matters alot. Poor people does nt have transportation. So it becomes impossible for them to send girls to join school.
School is perceived to impart western style of education.Thatswhy they send them to madresss which is informal religious school and free of cost.Madresss is not equipped with latest scientific knowledge.
Early marriage is very common in third world countries.In pakistan 21% of girls got married before reaching their 18 birthday and 3% begore the age 15.
Taliban have been dominant in KPK.They are against women education. They stopped girls from going to school.They destroyed building and put posters on school about women if they attend class they ll be punished.They haress them and terrorise them.
The most devastating attack on education in recent years in Pakistan was the December 2014 attack on the Army Public School in Peshawar city, where militants killed 145 people, almost all of them children.
Government insufficiently spends on education.Pakistan spends far less on education than is recommended by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).Due to ill funding school infrastructure is falling apart and and often teachers are unqualified.
Quality of education is very alarming in public school.Teachers are lacking in latest teaching techniques as there is no proper workshop arranged for them .On the other hand private school are good and provide quality education in conducive and competitive environment.
Some families don't believe that girls should get education because they have to join their husband after marriage where as boys have to remain with their parents and they financially supports them so they prefer boys to girls education.
Role of women in society
Women play magical role in society by earning wages and supporting family.By contributing in service sector they ensure country's progress,prosperity and development.
Women as qualified mother takes decisions regarding family meal and diet.
Rural women supports her family by working in homes as maids.They ensure food and security.
World Bank Country Director for Pakistan said:
"Every additional year of schooling for a girl increases her future earing by up to 10%".
Recommendations
- Most importantly government should increase expenditure and resources on education.
- Education should be made less expensive and compulsory.
- Reforms are needed in curriculum according to the international standards by educational experts.
- Information Technology should be made compulsory subject so that students may acquire latest digi skills in performing tasks.
- Raise the minimum age of marriage to 18 years.
- Ensure the safety of school so that they might not get attacked by fundamentalists.
- Child labour should be banned and violation should be severely dealt with.
- Monitor expenditure,funds and resources allocated to education.
- Rehabilitate and build new girls school and arrange transportation.
